A new leaflet print has been issued by the Payments Council to help people over the age of 65 to prepare for the cost of fuel over the winter.

The Pay Your Way leaflet, produced in conjunction with support from Esther Ranzen printing services, is designed to help those over 65 to identify whether or not they could save money byswitching energy suppliers. The cold weather is responsible for over 30,000 deaths in the elderly each year, so it is no surprise that some real action is being taken to help prevent this. Esther Ranzen said:

“The winter can be a particularly difficult time for people financially. Christmas is coming, fuel bills are higher than ever this year and older people in particular are vulnerable to fuel poverty and a heightened risk of falling ill. But it doesn’t need to be a time for worry.”

The custom printing leaflet is available at Citizens Advice Bureau and more information is also available online. This is an example of how people’s lives can be changed and even saved using leaflet and flyer printing.

Chesterfield is a town that is already putting plans in motion to help save lives in cold weather this winter. The NHS is working to ensure it is prepared to cope with extra demand due to more people falling ill in cold weather. Thanks to measures like this one and the Pay Your Way leaflet, many unnecessary deaths will hopefully be prevented this winter.
